Sunday Runs
As a free service to our clients, we schedule Sunday runs so you can run with other group members over some great courses. Runs are organised over a variety of distances for the first Sunday of the month. A great way to make those longer runs more interesting. For a run schedule, email info@hookedonhealth.com.au
Pub Night
The first Thursday of every month is pub night in Mosman. The Mosman Hooked on Running Group meets at the Buena Vista Hotel after their session (about 9pm) for a steak and beer (not necessarily in that order). If you happen to be in the area, drop in and have a chat.
Mid Year Dinner
Date: Friday 11th June Time: 7:30pm Venue: TBA - depending on numbers, probably Crows Nest

Upcoming Fun Runs
Here are the details of the fun runs we are targeting over the next few months. Remember to enter as part of the Hooked on Health team, where team entries are available.
Balmoral Burn Date: 30th May Place: Awaba St, Balmoral Distance: 420m. A very challenging race up a bit of a hill. Kids?: Great one for the kids to get amongst it. A good family day. Time: Various start times throughout the morning, depening on category. Go to website
MS Walk and Run Run Date: June 6th Venue Bradfield Park, Milson's Point Distance: 8km Kids? Yes, there are also walking events which start in the city Time: 8am Entries: Not clear, but you may need to enter by 28th May Go to website
Sri Chinmoy, Centennial Park Date: 13th June Place: Centennial Park Distance: 21.1km, 7km and 4km. This is a very pleasant, low key run through Centennial Park, and guaranteed to be MUCH cooler than the race they run in the same spot at the beginning of summer. Kids?: Would be suitable for kids who are keen on running, but not much fanfare for them to get excited about. Time: 8am Entries: Open now, and right up to about 10 minutes before the race. so no need to rush! Go to website
Minimos Marathon Date: 20th June Place: Mosman Public School Distance: 5km, 10km and 2km(ish) kids run. Quite a hilly course, but easier than the Lindfield Run. Kids?: Kids love this race. It's the school's main fundraising event and they run a fete with stalls and rides at the same time. Time: 10km 7:30; 5km 8:45; 2km 9:30 Entires: Early bird entries now closed. Gold Coast Half Marathon (and other distances)
Start training now for this one, and enjoy a weekend away. Choose between a getaway on your own, or bring the kids and do the theme parks at the same time. This is at the start of the NSW school holidays. A number of distances are offered and you are able to change race entry to a shorter race if you feel you've not been able to reach your training goals.
Date: 3rd-4th July Place: Southport, QLD Distance: Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10km, 5km, 4km and 2km Junior Dash. Kids? Yes, or no, depending on whether you want to take them. Time: Various - half marathon starts at 6am, so if you are running the half, get used to running early in the morning. Entries: Early bird up till 2nd June. Late, after 2nd June till 8pm 2nd July. Bay Run Date: 1st August Place: Iron Cove Distance: 7km Kids? Yes, 2km kids race Time: 8am men, 8:15 women, 8:30 kids Entries: Pre register and save, or enter on the day. Team registration is available. Teams of 4. We are currently clarifying with race organisers the best way to organise team registrations. Go to website
City To Surf Date: 8th August Place: Sydney CBD to Bondi Distance: 14km Kids? Not young kids Time: 8:30 am Entries: We have teams registered for this event. Hooked on Health women, and Hooked on Health men. Early bird prior to June 9th. June 10th onwards till race capacity reached at standard price. Go to website
Jamaica Blue Fun Run Pink A great run for first time run runners. All female events, and an all male 1km dash1
Date: 15th August Place: Centennial Park Distance: 2.5km, 5km and 10km. Kids? Yes, a great atmosphfer Time: 8am, mens 1km dash immediately after women's events. Entries: normal fee till 15th july. Late entry 16th july -13th aug. Entry also available on the day. Go to website
Sydney Running Festival (Bridge Run) A wonderful opportunity to experience crosing the harbour bridge when it is closed to traffic. Date: 19th September Place: Milson's Point to Botanic Gardens Distance: 4km andn 9km (approx) half marathon, full marathon Kids? Yes, but only if they are up for running or walkingi 4kms. If not, bring a pram and start at the back of the pack. It's a long way to carry them. Time: Half Marathon 6:20; Marathon 7:30; 4km 8am; 9km 9am. Entries: We have a team entry set up. Email for your password. Early bird till 31st August, standard 1st - 18th September, however be aware there are limited entries, so get in early. Go to website
San Run For Life Date: 17th October Place: San Hospital, Wharoonga Distance: 10km and 5km Kids? Time: 8am Entries: Not open yet. Team entry will be set up when available. Go to website
